Role Responsibilities:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your primary focus will be on maintaining the engineering activities of the site’s manufacturing processes. Key duties include:
- Ensuring plant safety and addressing safety concerns.
- Identifying and executing proactive and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Supporting the Engineering Manager/Team Leader in daily operations.
- Communicating effectively with the site leadership team to escalate production and engineering issues.
- Writing clear, concise handovers between shifts.
- Supervising team members and contractors, including permit writing and inductions.
- Mentoring apprentice engineers.
- Implementing PPM and AM schedules, driving continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Time-served Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (60% mechanical; 40% electrical) with experience in a manufacturing environment.
- NVQ Level 3 Qualified or recognised apprenticeship in Engineering.
- Proficiency in working with pneumatic controls and reading electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and other CI techniques - not essential.
- Experience with digital maintenance planning software - not essential.
- Competence in working with heavy machinery across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Exposure to the SQCPD model is advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge in clay industry equipment is desirable.
